Great question! Our physio service is all online meaning you can keep up with your consultations, reviews and rehab where ever you are.
Your initial consultation will be preceded with a questionnaire to maximise all of the time you have in your initial consultation on setting up the best plan for your recovery!
Absolutely! It has been shown to be just as effective as face to face work. Our service is designed for rugby players specifically and rehabilitation to get back on the rugby field is very different to trying to get back to day to day activities. One of the biggest and most common mistakes we see rugby players make during their recovery from injury is that they miss out on key components that they will need on the rugby field: it could be strength, speed, power, fitness, readiness for contact, breakdown skills… the list goes on. What we know is that when these components are missed out during recovery, they increase the risk of re-injury or secondary injuries occurring.
Absolutely. Just like on our membership, you’ll be able to access your training programs and track your performance. The app based training platform allows you track your performances during gym sessions and fitness sessions.
You can access the app immediately. Once you’ve signed up to the physio service you’ll set up an account, complete some initial information to help get us started and book your initial consultation.
Following your initial consultation you will then get a custom built rehabilitation program that you can access through the training app with the support of our team.

About Rob Parkinson
Rob has worked as a consultant rehab physiotherapist with the England Rugby Union senior mens team, Senior physiotherapist with England Rugby League as well as Head of Medical Services at the Catalan Dragons rugby league team, Senior first team physiotherapist with Gloucester RUFC and in rugby League’s Super League with Hull Kingston Rovers and Leeds Rhinos.
Rob is also a certified Performance coach and has completed a post graduate diploma (PGDip) in Sports and Exercise medicine from The University of Leeds and holds degrees in Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham and Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield.
MORE ABOUT ME:
I started playing rugby when I was 8 years old and enjoyed the game throughout school, college, university and club level. At the age of 17 I tore my ACL playing 7s. Unfortunately, my injury recovery certainly wasn’t smooth sailing. My initial injury was misdiagnosed and I tried repeatedly to get back on the field with an unstable knee. I eventually had an ACL reconstruction, rehabilitated and got back on the field after over 2 years missing two key seasons. That experienced sparked my interest in sports medicine. Knowing what I’ve learnt through my professional career I now know that my initial injury shouldn’t have been misdiagnosed and I like to think that I use my own personal experience with the athletes I work with.
I love all forms of the game and believe all players should have access to sound training and medical advice. It is that belief that got me involved with Rugby Renegade.
